| Absences and Punctuality |
Students are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes early in order to be prepared for class. Absences and tardiness are strongly discouraged. Each week, exercises will be reviewed but not re-taught. If students are unable to attend a class or rehearsal, parents are expected to notify the instructor in advance. |
| Behaviour |
Students are expected to demonstrate courteous, polite and respectful behaviour at all times. Instructors are not to be contacted by parents during class hours. The focus is on the students. Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated. If necessary, parents or students will be asked to leave Elite Fitness & Dance Inc. |
| Class Cancellations |
Throughout the year, classes may be cancelled due to illness, weather, etc. In the event of poor weather or driving conditions, please call the studio one hour prior to your scheduled class for a specific recorded message. Class cancellations will also be posted on our Dance Webpage. Refunds will not be issued for cancelled classes since tuition is a set rate. |
Costumes |
Each class will require a costume for the year end recital. Generally, the price of a costume will be a minimum of $50.00. This covers design, labour, material, trim, and alterations. If a student is unable to participate in the recital due to illness, other commitments, withdrawal from classes, etc., the costume must still be paid for. |
Dress Code |
Students who are not dressed appropriately for class will participate at the discretion of the instructor. For students in multiple classes that include Ballet, Jazz and Tap: Please wear proper attire (even if you are taking a Hip Hop class). These genres require discipline, so it is important that the dress code is followed. Hair must be worn in a ponytail or bun in all classes, and away from the face. Jewellery is not to be worn in class as it is a distraction and may be lost. Elite Fitness & Dance Inc. does not assume liability for lost or stolen items – please label belongings and leave valuables at home. |
